Corrine Carey, the New York State campaign director for Compassion and Choices, discusses the Medical Aid in Dying Act first introduced in 2016. Compassion and Choices.org is an organization that advocates for legislation to permit terminally ill people to request medication to end their lives. She talks with NCM host Donna Seymour about the history of the legislation, the need and support for it, the safeguards built into the bill, and the next steps in the campaign. The NY organizers are staring a 7 region road tour on NYS in November to talk with the public about the bill. The first three stops are in the North Country: Saranac Lake, Canton and Plattsburg.
