Nassau County Corner
The Nassau County League, with several other good government groups, is advocating for fair redistricting in our county, in accordance with the principles of the Federal Voting Rights Act. League members have delivered statements at county redistricting hearings and have been in attendance at meetings of the Nassau County Temporary Districting Advisory Commission (NCTDAC).
Mary Ellen McCollum
It is with deep sadness that our League honors the memory and service of Mary Ellen McCollum who died on Friday, August 31, 2012.
May Newburger Remembered
May Newburger was a seminal force in politics as a former New York State assemblywoman and North Hempstead Town supervisor. She died from cancer on Thursday at her Great Neck home. She was 92 years old.
