Even the State of the State isn’t Impervious to Taylor Swift
The Governor gave her State of the State speech on Tuesday. Dressed in an aisle-crossing maroon, she quoted Taylor Swift as she reminded us that we are all New Yorkers. The Governor primarily addressed mental health reforms, combatting retail theft, child care, policing domestic violence, medical debt, AI expansion, housing and early education. While she didn’t mention it in her speech, the written version of the State of the State noted that she would like to focus on expanding voting on college campuses by providing more information to students at key touch points (ex. when they register for housing, during orientation, and via social media) on how they can register to vote, important election dates, and more.
